Project Highlight

Bayer Becker worked with Gilbane Development Company on The Verge, a mixed-use development located on the University of Cincinnati's campus in Clifton at the corner of West Clifton Avenue and West McMillan Avenue.  The development encompasses a prominent corner and features 190 apartment units, a two-level underground parking garage, a 9,000 square foot commercial space, and six three-story townhomes.    Bayer Becker provided site design services for the overall project as well as designing the residential courtyard in the center of the development.  When completed, the development will include a clubhouse, fitness center, gaming areas, and an exterior courtyard on top of the parking garage with an outdoor seating area.   One of the main challenges on the project was providing detention for the site.  Because the building covers the entire site, Bayer Becker worked with the city to get a Special Inspections permit to provide the necessary detention in chambers underneath the garage slab.  The Verge received LEED Gold Certification.
