The Oakwood Parks Improvement project is focused on renewing key community recreation spaces to better serve current and future needs. As many existing amenities approach the end of their lifecycle, the project aims to reimagine how the parks function to enhance usability and create a more cohesive and accessible experience for residents. Guided by community input, the effort prioritizes thoughtful reinvestment that aligns with how people use and value these spaces today.

The project includes evaluation and planning for upgrades to Orchardly Park and Shafor Park with an emphasis on replacement options and long-term sustainability. As part of the broader initiative, a comprehensive public engagement process—featuring both digital and in-person surveys—was implemented to capture community priorities. This feedback is directly informing design decisions, helping shape targeted improvements and ensuring that future enhancements reflect the needs and preferences of the Oakwood community.
