Bayer Becker's design services on the first Scholar House in Northern Kentucky will help lead to a more promising future for those who pass through its doors. When completed, the location in Newport will have eight apartment buildings that will each house six, two- and three- bedroom apartments that can accommodate 48 families and will also feature an on-site child development center. Bayer Becker coordinated design with Hub & Weber, the architect, Model Group, SD1, the Newport Housing Authority and Neighborhood Foundations (formerly The Housing Authority of Newport). Bayer Becker was able to save money on the project by working with SD1 standards regarding stormwater management for the project. Due to the site’s urban setting and other constraints design for the project included underwater detention.
To ensure quality, Bayer Becker takes an interdisciplinary approach to the arrangement, appearance, and design where creativity meets functionality in all our municipal development projects.
