Miami University Walks & Drives Program

Tree-lined street leading to red brick buildings under a clear blue sky.
Empty parking lot bordered by grass and trees on a clear day.

The effects of traffic and environmental factors will cause every pavement, no matter how well designed or constructed, to deteriorate over time. Bayer Becker has provided engineering for Miami University and the City of Oxford streets, driveways, parking lots, curbs, gutters, and sidewalk reconstruction projects on an annual basis.

Broken or settled curbs are spot replaced, as well as driveway aprons, sidewalks and pedestrian ramps. In addition to street resurfacing, manholes are reconstructed as needed to provide safe access. After Miami University staff assess the campus infrastructure and determines the improvements needed, Bayer Becker is responsible for the surveying, base map, and replacement design for all identified sites and features. Our firm also assists the University with construction specifications in facilitating the bid.
