Butler County Water & Sewer faced recurring failures in an aging 6-inch water main along Jerry Drive and adjacent residential streets in West Chester Township. The challenge was to design a reliable replacement system without acquiring new easements from property owners, while also avoiding disruption to nearby large transmission mains. The County needed a solution that could be constructed within existing rights-of-way and would support future infrastructure improvements in the subdivision.

Bayer Becker provided comprehensive surveying and engineering services for the installation of 7,900 linear feet of new 6-inch ductile iron water main. Our team began by developing a detailed base map capturing topography, utilities, property boundaries, and easements. Through close coordination with the County Engineer’s Office, we identified an alignment that met all spatial constraints and minimized impacts to existing roadway infrastructure. The final design allowed for seamless transition of residential service to the new main, followed by safe abandonment of the failing infrastructure—all while maintaining uninterrupted operation of adjacent transmission lines.
