I-75 & Liberty Way Interchange Improvements
As part of the Liberty Center development, Bayer Becker provided transportation planning and engineering services for the project. In particular, our firm prepared an interchange modification study which included the review of traffic analysis points for all mainline freeway segments, freeway merge and diverge, weaving segments, and intersection capacity of the Liberty Way arterial. Synchro, SimTraffic, and Highway Capacity Software were utilized to determine the capacity measures and various improvements were identified.
Bayer Becker provided design services for the roadway improvements on Liberty Way, Tylers Place Blvd, and at the interchange of I-75/SR-129 and Liberty Way based on a interchange modification study. The improvements included right turn lanes at four different locations along Liberty Way to provide access to the Liberty Center development, restriping of the left turn lanes at Tylers Place Boulevard and Taylor Street, and the removal and addition of medians in the center of Liberty Way and modification of three interchange ramps were also included in the improvements. Tylers Place Boulevard was also restriped to match the design of the Liberty Center entrance.
In addition to the roadway improvements, the existing signal at Liberty Way and Tylers Place Boulevard was modified including relocating poles and signal heads and adjusting timing and phasing. A new signal was designed at the intersection of Liberty Way and Taylor Street and shop drawings were also checked and approved for items along Liberty Way.
