The City of Mason sought to capitalize on access improvements to I-71 at Western Row to create a more prominent and welcoming presence along this vital corridor. The project aimed to transform the unique, asymmetrical interchange into a signature gateway that reflects the city's identity while improving traffic operations and safety.

To make travel smoother and safer, Bayer Becker’s transportation engineering team conducted traffic counts, saturation flow, and travel time studies along King Mills Road, Kings Island Drive, and Western Row Road.  The team designed new traffic signals that help vehicles move more efficiently through the area.

At the same time, our landscape architects developed a plan that highlights the natural beauty of the corridor. By preserving key views and existing greenery, and introducing thoughtful design elements, we helped shape a gateway that reflects Mason’s character and leaves a lasting impression on visitors and residents alike.
