Contrast (Liberty & Elm)

Aerial view of urban buildings and streets with cars and trees.

The $65 million mixed-use development will transform the neighborhood surrounding historic Findlay Market. At the corner of Liberty St & Elm St, the project is located along the streetcar route and will provide 276 residential apartments with over 11,000 square feet of commercial space and a 207 space parking garage.

Bayer Becker was a member of the original design and development team that first took on this project in 2015. After several years of working with neighborhood and city groups, adjusting site and building programming to respond to community feedback, and a fresh look from a new development team; the project finally achieved City Council approval in 2021. Bayer Becker was instrumental in obtaining the required zone change to a Planned Development (PD) district. Our design team also guided the development lease for Freeport Alley, converting this public street to a prominent pedestrian corridor.
