Cold Spring Municipal Campus
As the City of Cold Spring continues to experience steady population growth, city leaders recognized the need to reimagine and expand municipal facilities to better serve residents. The goal was to create a more cohesive, accessible, and engaging civic campus—one that could support both essential services and vibrant community life. With a focus on long-term planning, the city sought to enhance public amenities, improve operational efficiency, and provide inclusive spaces for recreation, events, and everyday use.
Bayer Becker partnered with the City of Cold Spring to develop a forward-thinking master plan that consolidated municipal functions and opened new opportunities for public space. Central to the plan was the construction of a modern police station and a multi-functional community center, both integrated into the existing wooded campus. The new police station includes upgraded safety features, an armory, garage, locker rooms, fitness and training areas, and administrative offices—designed to support the department’s evolving needs.
The community center was designed to foster engagement and wellness, featuring a first-floor gymnasium, an upper-level indoor walking track, meeting rooms, a party room, and a catering kitchen to accommodate a wide range of events and programs. The plan also introduced new walking trails, upgraded playgrounds, expanded parking, and an outdoor event center to host concerts, festivals, and community gatherings. A key addition to the recreational offerings was the inclusion of pickleball courts—responding to growing demand for accessible, multi-generational activities. These courts further enhance the campus’s role as a destination for active living and social connection.
This comprehensive expansion reflects Cold Spring’s commitment to thoughtful growth, civic pride, and creating a welcoming environment for all residents to enjoy now and into the future.
