Butler County Sewer Rehabilitation

Quiet suburban street with houses, trees, and sunlight casting shadows.

In 2023, Bayer Becker performed survey and design work for the Butler County Water and Sewer Department.  This work was required in order to prepare and file for 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and included an opinion of probable cost for each project.  The project consisted of the replacement of approximately 1,403 LF of 8” sanitary sewer main and approximately 590 LF of 33” and 36” sanitary sewer main.

Bayer Becker provided the professional surveying and engineering services necessary to prepare topographic, boundary and control surveys, final construction documents, and opinion of probable cost.   The contract, in total, was for 11 separate projects, including 3 projects consisting of CIPP.  Since the projects were in different locations across Butler County, the design staff had to take into consideration working within easements on private property to minimize impact on those properties.  As well as minimizing the impact to a major county park and waterway.  Many of the projects required were contiguous to the ROW or required crossing the roadway to remove and replace pipe sections.  In addition, due to the numerous locations involved, Bayer Becker collaborated with several utility companies to ensure precise planning, minimizing disruptions during the sewer replacement project.
