Bluebird Goldfinch Water Main Replacement
Aging 6-inch water mains along several residential streets in West Chester Township—including Bluebird, Goldfinch, Woodlark, Tanager, Willet, Ptarmigan, Goldcrest, and Kinglet Drives—had become increasingly prone to breaks, resulting in frequent service disruptions for residents. To address this issue, Bayer Becker provided comprehensive surveying and engineering services for the replacement of approximately 10,000 linear feet of water main. The project was delivered on a tight timeline to meet SCIP grant funding requirements, while minimizing construction impacts in this established neighborhood.
During design, our team adhered to Butler County Water and Sewer (BCWS) and ODOT specifications, ensuring both utility and roadway restoration met agency standards. Special connection details were incorporated to integrate the new mains with the existing system and to accommodate future system extensions. All improvements were confined to public rights-of-way or easements to avoid disturbance to private property. Our survey team worked closely with property owners and the County to identify optimal alignments that preserved landscaping, driveways, and other residential features—demonstrating our commitment to both technical excellence and community sensitivity.
